Officially founded on October 16, 2011, SHARP is Columbia University’s newest all male a Cappella group. Created through a process of recruitment and pure faith in the talent on Columbia’s campus, in just two semesters SHARP has grown from two sophomores with a vision to a full-fledged performance group consisting of 14 extraordinarily talented guys. We are a group that prides itself on a commitment to producing outstanding musical experiences for audiences both on and off Columbia's campus through writing and creating arrangements of popular soul, R&B, and Top 40 hits; the singers of SHARP are also enthusiastic performers of classic pop and Motown. SHARP consists of singers with all types of musical experience: ranging from those with none to classical pianists, theatre performers, and songwriters. The group's firm commitment to maintaining a musically-inclusive environment while simultaneously producing quality performance experiences for audiences sets SHARP apart from any other a Cappella ensemble on campus.

It is with great bittersweetness and excitement that we also present our first alumni class. Danny Murcia and John Kenney

are two men we are honored to call brothers, and it is with great pride that we present them to the world.

As for the 14 guys that are sticking around, we are working on exciting things this summer, so stay tuned!

SHARP has had a busy semester, traveling to Temple University to perform with OwlCappella , and also performing at

multiple Columbia University events, including Glass House Rocks 2013: Space Jam , Relay for Life, Egleston Scholars Dinner,

Perspectives on Diversity Showcase, and Columbia APAHM's SPOTLIGHT benefit concert.

And now, get ready for our Second Annual Spring Performance, taking place May 8 in John Jay Lounge at 8pm.

Featuring great new songs, a peek at our award-winning ICCA set, and also two special guest performances!

This weekend, the Men of SHARP donned their suits for their first performance this semester: ICCAs

Mid-Atlantic Quarterfinals. Competing for the first time against eight other groups, SHARP went way beyond

expectations and took home 3rd place! Unfortunately, this also means we do not advance to semifinals,

but we look forward to sharing our sweet music and sizzling moves with you at our future performances.

And just for the record: look out, world! We'll be back to rock ICCAs again next year!

SHARP is very excited to welcome its newest members: Jimmy Guan (CC '16), Jason Kempner (CC '16),

Cameron Lemley (CC '16), Sammy Sainthil (CC '14), and Andrew Vogel (CC '16).
